Dakota Dunes and the Online Rules

Dakota Dunes Casino is a building on Whitecap Dakota First Nation lands, reached by Highway 219 south of Saskatoon. Rules for online play in Saskatchewan are different, and they are set out on this page.

Private sites and the province

Saskatchewan gives private online casinos no route to a licence. The provincial government goes further and calls the sites that compete with PlayNow.com illegal platforms.

This guide reports that position as the province states it. For an RV crew parked on the casino lot, the rule matches the rest of Saskatchewan. Phones and laptops in a stall fall under the same provincial position.

What the exclusion programs cover

Game Break is SaskGaming's self-exclusion program, voluntary and confidential. Its term is 6 months at the shortest and 5 years at the longest, covering PlayNow.com as well as all casinos in the province. Once it takes effect, it cannot be shortened.

To request SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion, a person goes to any SIGA casino or books an appointment at SIGA Central Office, 103 Aspen Place, Saskatoon. Terms again range from 6 months to 5 years, as in the other program, and all nine Saskatchewan casinos are off limits to the person. Enrolling someone else is not possible. Private online sites are not blocked by either program.

The Ad links on this guide

Paid links, each carrying an Ad label, appear on this guide's home page alone. They occupy three positions: the menu button, one block following the opening screen and one more block toward the bottom. Every one leads to a private online casino; that partner pays a commission to this guide. That partner goes unnamed here and is subject to change. The guide gives no guarantee for it, and the province's view of private sites applies to it like any other.

Questions from the lot

Who runs PlayNow.com for Saskatchewan players?

PlayNow.com is run by SIGA, which stands for the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority. It first opened to players in the province in November 2022, for those aged 19 and up.

Is PlayNow.com included in a Game Break exclusion?

Yes, Game Break covers PlayNow.com along with every casino in the province. Once in effect, a term cannot be cut back; it lasts at least 6 months and at most 5 years.

Will a provincial self-exclusion stop access to private casino sites?

No. Private online sites are not blocked by Game Break or by SIGA Voluntary Self-Exclusion. Game Break covers the casinos and PlayNow.com, while the SIGA program covers the nine casinos.
